Despite all the challenges that I faced this 2012, I’m still very thankful for this year. Those tough times made me a better individual. Those tough times allowed me to look things differently (and wisely). I would not be where I am right now if not for the trials that I faced.
That’s why…Thank you 2012 for giving me a positive outlook for 2013.

On Saturday, December 15, I covered the gift-giving event of Bamboo Music Live Fanatics at E. Rodriguez Integrated School in Mandaluyong City. Bamboo Mañalac was there to grace the event. When Bamboo entered the venue, he was all smiles and he had this aura that he was very excited for the gift-giving.
As the event was going through, I was taking videos all over the place and then I passed through where he was seated. What transpired next was something that I didn’t expect for a celebrity with such high stature like him. He greeted me with a smile and said something, then tapped my left arm. All I can do at that point was to smile back at him since I was really surprised. I’m 100 percent sure that Bamboo doesn’t know me or even seen me before that day. For him to greet normal individuals like that speaks of his personality that he is very down-to-earth.
Another testament to Bamboo’s down-to-earth personality was when they were already handing out the gifts to kids. As the kids (there were more or less 50 kids) were lined up to receive their gifts, he greeted them and said their names one by one before giving the presents. There were a lot of kids on that event and it was an amazing moment to see Bamboo say every kid’s name gleefully.

At around 12:00 a.m. later, I (and the rest of Wave 55) would be taking their first call after more than a month of training. This is my first call center job and I’m quite anxious about later. What if I mess up with the first call? What if the customer doesn’t understand what I said to him/her? What if I failed to provide what the customer needed? On the brighter side, I know that after that first call, things would be a bit easier since I already got a feel of answering a real call. I just need to stay focused and everything will be fine.
